WINKS

WINKS – weekend links. Here we list what has come in during the week, things we think you’ll like to see. If you’d like to see your blog or website featured email us and if we think it fits with our readers we’ll link you. It’s a short WINKS this time. I’m up to my eyeballs in UFOs (unfinished objects) and the weekend list of jobs to do is huge!

  • Lotta Jansdotter is offering her subscribers a free askö zipper bag on any purchase over $40 (excluding shipping). Simply use the code “asko” when you check-out to receive yours! Offer is still open till 21st August.
  • Elizabeth from Laura Day Design whose work I featured here emailed to say that their blog has been updated. Laura sure has style. WOW!
  • Kelsey sent a link to her blog Designage. Drop on by and check out her take on all things design. Don’t you love finding new design blogs!
  • And because I am so jealous of the West Coast party lifestyle he is living, click on over to Jordan Cappella’s blog. Check out his tote bag line while you’re there. Lucite furniture and bags. What’s next Jordan?

Mark Christofi

Mark Christofi has been designing interiors for over 25 years and began his own firm (Mark Christofi Interiors) in 1995. He has “a fresh style that juxtaposes traditional and classical elements with unexpected contemporary accents”. Bold, a little off-the-wall whimsical and eclectic is what I make of the following photos from his portfolio…including one of the wackiest wall graphic paint techniques I’ve ever seen.

Miles Redd

I happened across Miles Redd’s website recently and realized, much to my astonishment, that we have never done a post on this brilliant designer. Forget brilliant, he’s a design GENIUS. The KING of vignettes. I don’t even know what to say….just have a look below at some of my favourite photos from his portfolio because they speak for themselves. And they speak loudly.

Pulling it together

Posted on Wed, 15 Aug 2007 by midcenturyjo

Thought I’d show you what is going on in my new place. First let me say that the carpet is going. YUK!!!!! I have ordered a room size coir rug. Everything here is thrifted, bought on etsy, found in secondhand shops or through retro dealers except the screen which is from an interior design student exhibition from my university days. This is not how the room will look, just an idea. Wait till you see the travertine, chrome and glass coffee table I have coming. I’m going for a Wary-Meyers retro boho look with lime green, navy and a clash of chrome and gilt. I am trying to pull this all together on a strict budget and with mainly thrifted finds because a)I want to show that it can be done, b)I believe in reuse and recycling and c) I’m broke at the moment! Check out my Flickr for more explanations.

And here’s what prompted me to post this now. I found this couch on Chez Fifi through a link I found on Absolutely Beautiful Things today. A red suite similar to my now navy blue suite. Small world!
