Election results are in for Australia and all I can say is I love red. I have ever since my daddy told me my family stories. No political grandstanding. Time for a celebration of red!

A quiet week here but I did finish my 70s light box side table with more of my vintage bus roll fabric. Still have to hang artwork, make the roman blinds for the window and put the finishing touches to my “cupboard office”. Almost there. Wish I had more time. Maybe I should blog less or quit my job? If only!
Sorry to everyone facing an oncoming winter. It wasn’t very nice of me to flaunt my subtropical beaches. Here’s a wonderful Dalmatian on a Swan chair as an apology 😉
It’s Saturday here now and I off to vote in the national elections. I love voting, not just to exercise my democratic right but because most polling booths are in schools. What is so good about that? Fundraising cake stalls. Yum!
Katie Ridder can create the most wonderfully traditional rooms but they still have that wow factor. Texture, colour, pattern all play a part. This former decorating editor from House and Garden and House Beautiful is equally at home with antique crystal chandeliers or midcentury sputnik lights.
Just wanted to give a little shout out to Swank Lighting for being our new sponsor. They have some of the most gorgeous lamps we’ve EVER seen so we were really excited for them to be a part of our blog. Have a little peek at their wares, but beware of free-flowing drool. This is lamp porn at it’s finest.
