Elle Decoration South African style

Posted on Thu, 19 Jun 2008 by KiM

I LOVE shelter magazines, and I realized last night that we’ve never plugged Elle Decoration SA’s blog before. I adore Elle Decoration (British and French versions) and would love to get my hands on a copy of a South African version. They showcase fabulous eclectic homes and I found the following photos of such homes on their blog, which, what do you know, is also fabulous (and co-written by Heather Moore of Skinny Laminx).

Hi, do you happen to know the manufacturer on the woven floor lamp and pendant? At least, I assume they’re from the same manufacturer since they appear so similar.

Thanks!

it seems that Elle deco is good in all versions, I love the Argentinean one but it just has 3 o 4 issues per year.South African edition luckily we can see in that blog.

Yum!

OOH there’s that same mirror’ed (?) piece! I noticed it months ago in a room that was photographed by Jen Fong. Any idea where to find it??

Thanks for the always amazing posts!

So nice to see our blog on your fabulous site – thanks a lot for the substantial mention!

I can try to answer a couple of your readers’ questions while I’m here:

The woven lamp is from a store in Cape Town called LIM (lim.co.za), and I believe the mirrored piece on the wall is by Cape Town designer, Vivienne Barrett.

Thanks again,
Heather (Elle Deco / Skinny laMinx)

Thanks Heather!!

It is wonderful to see such interest in Elle Decoration South Africa, our blog features home images that we do not use in the print version.I noticed that Kim asked where a copy was available. You can subscribe to the print version, via our blog, http://www.elledeco.blogspot.com. Thanks again for all your suport and the lovely response – it makes us so happy to be doing what we do!
