Why I wanted a shipping container – part 1

Posted on Wed, 17 Mar 2010 by KiM

Today I thought I’d post some more photos from my trip to Mexico, specifically from a couple of the shops that I fell in love with. Then tomorrow I’ll show you all the stuff I managed to cram in my 1 suitcase.

This first shop located in downtown Puerto Vallarta is called Origenes – David Luna. It was BEOOOOOOTIFUL. Tons of incredible rustic, earthy furniture from Mexico and elsewhere that I could have furnished an entire home with. To die for. And none of it fit in my suitcase. If you’re in Puerto Vallarta, you must check it out for the eye candy factor. Bring a shipping container with you.  🙂 (Their website includes details of the locations of their 4 shops and interior design projects).

I wish I could go back to Puerta Vallerta just to go to this shop! Your images really captured the coloring and design of the objects in the store!

I actually shopped here and at a shop called El Sofa 58 often on trips to my vacation pad in PVR from Sydney and believe it or not the shipping is worth it. Sure we have to be careful about the wood products getting held up in customs down here, but many of the shops there in PVR ship to Australia more often than you’d believe. Gorgeous photos!

I have been to this same store. We were just there back in February. I loved it as well. Thanks for sharing your pics!

So much to love….the mirror is amazing.

I love the hanging lamps (?) in the second picture. So dreamy. I would have gone into sensory overload there! I’m dying to see what you brought home! I’m sure it will fit great in your place since you’ve been doing the ethnic chic thing.
