It’s all about the light. I know we say it over and over but these pictures from the portfolio of photographer Hector Sanchez prove it. These are wonderful rooms that don’t need the glare of the spotlight to shine. I think the blue undertones that Hector captures in his shots are beautiful. Cool and elegant. Speaking of cool and elegant how about that lounging nook in the bathroom! Indulgent.

Upside down parasols!? What an amazing look!

Beautiful natural lighting shining through…

Wow! I love that cozy kitchen in the 3rd row!

Speaking of the 3rd row, does anybody know anything about the black leather chair and ottoman? If this is something I should know, sorry! I am never good at remembering chair names. But I saw it and thought it’d be perfect for my husband!

Very inspiring to see naturally lit photography.

The hanging parasols are great (I’ve always wanted to decorate with parasols). I also love the kitchen in the 3rd row- so warm and welcoming!

i’m smitten with the collection of globes!!!

Honestly, I felt a bit squashed by a lot of these pics. In for instance: Tiny table, two chairs, a dozen globes. Or: Fireplace, wide doorway, chair w/ottoman couch, large map, cabinet. Both in narrow vertical shots. Squash. I love the colors, the light is handled beautifully, there isn’t a feeling of over-arrangement, really — the photographer has a beatiful eye (and wonderful rooms to work with) and puts across the full sensation of the room. Just in a fashion that takes some getting used to. Like Picasso! After all, who looked at two eyes sitting on the same side of a profile and said, "Yes, that’s just how I picture people!" I really love the way light washes across the scenery.

Oh god, that first blue room pic made me flash on my grandmother’s overstuffed bedroom which had the exact same light effect thanks to acres of light blue polyester everywhere! Giant pale blue glass, dim light and hobnail glass lamps & vases everywhere. Haven’t seen the light duplicated since….until now. Lovely pic, lovely memory.

Gorgeous spaces…lovely images. I’m swooning over that kitchen!! The light flooding through the window casts such warmth on everything else!
