A masculine take on traditional interiors. Layering of patterns and texture. Neutrals and rich deep browns play with earthy greens and autumnal hues. Soft blues push through to grab your attention. It’s subtle but stylish. Easy elegance and feather filled comfort. High end interior design by Washington D.C. based David Mitchell. Teapot display is fabulous! So is use of art.

Michelle says:

I am constantly in search of an aesthetic that blends the light and dark, raw and polished, traditional and contemporary, streamlined and clean yet still cozy and comfortable, and some of these rooms epitomize this melange. I love, love, love the four poster, slubby linen drapes, mural on the panelled wall, and yes, the painted stripey floor. Cheeky.

Lauren says:

Wow! Love!

I am in awe of that first living room…that painted striped wood floor makes me giddy.

lea says:

Too cluttered for my liking, an ottoman that has to get pushed under a coffee table means too much stuff in the room.
Having said that there is a warmth to the rooms that I do like.

Alex says:

Anyone happen to know where the canopy bed is from?

Polish chick "boring" is a bit lazy and rude. I know you can critique better than that. We encourage criticism but a flipant throw away lines is not criticism 🙂

Love the Asian teapots on the blocks! Super cute idea for a kitchen.

reiyam says:

wow! this is definitely one of my favorite posts, i can actually see myself in that design

skf says:

Could you advise what kind of twisted leg table you have in the photo? We would like to find an antique or reprodcution table similar to this…..any ideas of where to find?

DAH says:

Love the rug in the picture of the library with the white sofa and white coffee table. Where can I find it? Thanks.
