A couple eye-catchers

I spotted the following photos on the website of New York design firm Carrier and Company and had to feature them here. I was drawn to the window treatment in the dining room. It’s super casual and works so well in a rustic/country setting. And I have such a strong desire to find a really large industrial sink when we rebuild our house. The sink in the bathroom below is SO cool! (Jo blogged this firm back here).

CS says:

The sink looks like it used to be some kind of machine in a factory. 😛 I like it. But a little to rough for my tastes. 🙂 And I think that kitchen could use a little more storage space.

Larry says:

This is totally up our our aesthetic alley. LOVE that sink. I used an old galvanized trough in a mudroom and this reminds me of that. Also love the use of the red stripe on the chairs in the dining room. Nice post.

George says:

Love the sink as well! And Larry that is a really good idea to use a trough as a sink I hope you don't mind if I steal your idea! 😀

dana says:

i have to admit i feel that the window treatments make the room look like low rent student housing…

however they are definitely in-line with the casual rustic vibe but personally, i think that raw linen drapes wouldn't take away from the look and would be less student-like.

but, that's my taste and clearly not theirs!
