Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 13 Aug 2012 by KiM

If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it’s dark or fuzzy (from a camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.comand PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet! Thanks!

I’ve been following the Pets on Furniture from the beginning (I commented on the very first post!).  My golden retriever, Baxter, wound up in the second post, which I guess became the start of the Pets on Furniture series that I love.
We usually don’t let him on furniture, but he somehow knows that when we stay at a dog friendly hotel (we’re big fans of the Kimpton brand), he’s allowed on the furniture.  My husband took me to DC for my birthday last weekend and we weren’t surprised when Baxter helped himself to one of the chairs in our room at the Donovan House hotel.

Breeze, my 7 year old tabby cat when he’s not sleeping or eating carpet he enjoys spending time on one of his many favorite chairs in the apartment.

This is the family room of a home we renovated and designed in the Hollywood Hills. As our photographer was about to snap a photo of this room, the owner’s dog decided to hop on the sofa and take center stage. Afterwords, we realized he really drove home the point of Timothy’s design philosophy: “Comfortable Elegance” means really being able to live in a beautiful space without worries about spilling drinks, kids or pets. Believe it or not, much of the furniture in this lovely family room is actually slipcovered in outdoor fabric for this very reason!

As the official product tester of inubar.com, Puff knows a good pattern when he sees one. He’s currently obsessed with his green Marimekko bedding!

Hope Pudding will make it on to the site. How could she not, when lounging SO elegantly on my Barcelona chair? ‘The morning after the night before.’ I know how she feels!

We send you two pictures of our cats. The first picture represents our first cat (a six years old male) lying on a bed made by an old friend of our family. The second picture represents our new kitty (a four months old female) sleeping on old linen on a bridge chair who belonged to Emilie’s grandmother.

This is my Abyssinian mix, Arwen. She has claimed our new floor cushions, so it seems I am still sitting on the floor!

I also love that table in the pic without a pet! Thanks for featuring my cat Breeze. He will be ecstatic that he's on another blog besides my own!

Thanks for posting my kitty, she still won't let me have the cushions back, but we love her, so she'll get away with it for now. I love waking up on Tuesday (that's when I get to see it in Australia) and checking out pets on furniture with morning coffee!

AWWW this is beyond cute:)
I have two cats myself and cant imagine my life without them…
My female cat likes to have my cabinet fav cat furniture haha:)

I wish you a great week
