Monday’s pets on furniture – part 1

Posted on Mon, 7 Jan 2013 by KiM

If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it’s dark or fuzzy then it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.comand PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet! Thanks!

This is a picture of my sweet Doberman, Daniel Louis on my son’s bed.

Saturday December 29th we lost peacefully at home our beloved Bichon Chris-Tina. 15 yrs old. Here she is Christmas morning on her favorite Hermes blanket. She will be missed.

For your consideration, is a pic of my Persian Remi sitting on the kitchen loveseat.

Zizou hangs out on New Year’s Day morning, awaiting great excitement from a newfound perch. Chair from West Elm, lamp from Ikea, enormous plant from who-knows-where.
– Erin (Washington, DC)

A few weeks after losing my 13-1/2 year-old greyhound boy, Ender (who only once got up on the furniture and was featured in tribute here, I adopted Penny, a 15-month old greyhound girl, who is filling in the empty spot Ender left.  Penny has selected one of my vintage rattan chairs as her favorite.  The first photo is of Penny in her fierce “watch dog” pose by the window, in case she opens her eyes, she can “watch” something.  The second one, I call “bottoms up”, for obvious reasons.

This is my friends cat Pati. Sitting on my bottega bag 🙂

Here is my cat, Greta, on a teak mid century footstool I have just recovered.

I headed home to Wisconsin for the holidays and got to meet my mother’s new puppy, Charley. Charley was showing me how he likes to play the organ and make everyone smile!

minnesota says:

sorry about your dog Chris Tina. she must have had a wonderful life with you.

Dayle says:

Chris-Tina is probably resting on a pile of Hermes right now. RIP little one, I am glad she was with you for Christmas.

cockatoopete says:

ah, Chris, as was said, thankfully you had her for a last xmas. She looked so well and beautiful, but they are only with us for so long, unfortunately. Thoughts are with you, this is something most of us can't bear to contemplate. A blessing she went peacefully at home and that you had so many years with Tina and I bet many wonderful moments. Sometimes the best gift we get to give in life is love and a place for a special creature. And they give us so much more in return. It is a very special relationship. Take care.
