Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 28 Jan 2013 by KiM

If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it’s dark or fuzzy then it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.comand PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet! Thanks!

This is Gromit the dog sleeping on a friday morning. As his master has left for work, the place in bed obviously needs to be filled.
Märt (Tallinn, Estonia)

Attached is a photo of my coonhound Scarlett relaxing in her favorite spot, the Room and Board loveseat in my office. Look at her big sad eyes; I just can’t bring myself to ask her to find another (more practical, not-white) perch. (Notice the branding on her ear. She used to be a hunting dog until she either got lost or was abandoned. We rescued her 6 months ago from a high kill shelter in New Mexico)

this is obi — he’s sitting guard as he does each day on his favorite vintage chair — peering out the window, and always with proper use of the armrest…
stacie (santa barbara)

attached is a photo of my two english bulldogs – tater tot is the brindle puppy (17months) and little bit is the sleeping 13yr old. i think the cherry red Naugahyde sofa & custom made oil cloth pillows make for a bright and cheery backdrop to my baby boys. normally i won’t submit a photo that had an obvious cord, but they looked so sweet while i was drilling a shelf into the wall that i felt compelled to send. also it is one of the few photos that the dogs are the entire frame.
jeanie (New York City)

It’s a picture of my dog Pixie on the right and my neighbors dog Gigi.

This is our cat Hermione sleeping on our recently acquired Eames Soft Pad Management chair. I think it needs to be re-upholstered. Hermione doesn’t seem to care 🙂

I love Monday’s pets on furniture and thought my 12yrs old Muru cat wants to join in. I have adopted her from a cat-shelter soon 2yrs ago. She is very much loved and I wish to give her a loving and caring home for the rest of her life. Here she is sitting on my chest of drawers, she sits here daily and glances out through the window or takes a little nap.
Nina (Helinki, Finland)

Here is my Pagoda atop my Eileen Gray.

jeanie says:

Tater Tot is super stoked to have his first press appearance! Little Bit has seen it all before. Thanks so much for including! xxoo.

Ruth says:

love love love these posts, Kim. Bulldogs on the red sofa got me. I have those oil cloths but never thought to make pillows out of them!

sarah says:

What a great group of pets on furniture! What type of dog is Obie? Tibetan Terrier? He looks similar to my dog who we rescued and we're not sure what breed he is…

Nina says:

Thank you for including us <3

oh holland says:

Always touched by so many rescued pets — this week, especially the lovely hound from a New Mexico high-kill shelter, Scarlett. I've been in animal protection for decades and never came across a dog whose ear had been branded. That's a new one on me.

dana says:

They are all fantastic and brighten my monday, but daisy cat and panda. too much.

stacie says:

sarah — obi is a rescue, too! we were told he's a shih tzu / terrier mix, but that's all we know. maybe the terrier part is tibetan like yours? would be so great to have all the info, wouldn't it? he's a fantastic dog!

Panda hiding from her ear cleaning is TOO CUTE!

silvia says:

🙂 love the Duo Pixie and Gigi , and Panda too !

Sylvie says:

Love these. I would get along great with Mart from Estonia. I have that same (amazingly cool and cheap) Ikea duvet cover, a very similar lamp we made and love the shelving…Bellingham, WA and Estonia are not that far removed, I guess!
