Erik Gutter

Loving the portfolio of interior stylist and decorator from the Netherlands Erik Gutter. Kinda funky, not overdone, featuring classic Eames chairs, and there’s even a couple of cats. What more do you need?

Jim Stephenson and the Shingle House

Posted on Tue, 26 Mar 2013 by midcenturyjo

By now many of us have seen (and admired) the Shingle House by NORD. A beautifully simple house in tune with its environment. What could be better? Enter architectural photographer Jim Stephenson. A house that I like becomes a house that I want. His deep love of the built environment and his ability to interpret how people interact with a space make his photos come alive. So often a space is depicted as cold and clinical but architecturally perfect. By including people the home becomes more intimate, more real, more wonderful.

Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 25 Mar 2013 by KiM

If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it’s dark or fuzzy then it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.comand PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet! Thanks!

My photos “Pets on Furniture”

Here is our wee Grey-dog enjoying our Mart Stam chair while keeping our house safe from the evil invading squirrels. Also, his ears can pick up signals from space…

This is Melo on his window seat– a vintage settee.

Here are a few pics of our cats MegaCat and Noah.
We bought this new foot stool for MegaCat but he seems a little unsure about using it :p
Noah is shown on a sheepskin rug, never imagined what a huge hit it would become with him, i think he has fallen in love with it!
And the final pic shows both the boys in a rare moment cuddled up together on our new Ercol chair that we got on e-bay and needs a bit of a refurb, although all our cats seem to have claimed it for them.
