Perched high on a ridge with views to infinity this three storey home in Fresnaye, Cape Town by SAOTA – Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects takes advantage of a difficult steep site. Balancing concrete, glass and granite on columns that dig deep into the ground, the architects have opened the building’s face to that amazing vista. Such solidity balanced by a desire to run, jump and fly away into the blue.

Beautiful home and views. Challenging site! And the greyhound at the top of the stairs looks just like my girl, Penny!

Fabulous entrance, great from the exterior, but inside looks awfully cold and hard-edged and echo-ey.

Love that pool and that view …also love the fact that there is no requirement for a " nanny state" pool fence .

We rented a villa in the South of France and it too had a beautiful pool with no pool fence , instead there was a device which you turned on and it set of an alarm if someone fell into the pool ….much better idea !
