Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 16 Sep 2013 by KiM

If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, if the photo is dark or fuzzy then it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.comand PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet! Thanks!

This is Hampton our two year old French bulldog on his new favorite chair.

1 – Valentino our Maltese x Shitzu sitting in the sunroom, he likes this spot because it is warm and he is so thin he is always cold.
2 – Suzie our Jack Russell x napping on a vintage chair we found at an antique store a few years ago.
3 –
Louis our Maltese x resting on our couch after a hard morning of walks and lunch.

This is Moody sleeping on our HAY rug. One of his favorite spots.
– Marion (Ghent, Belgium)

The living room of my house here in Buenos Aires. Our cat Mau Mau (a rescue) loves to nap on the pouffs I inherited from my grandma.Over the white sofa an “aguayo” bought in Salta (a province up north in the limit with Bolivia) The yute rug came all the way from Punta del Este in Uruguay, and serves as a scratcher too!
– Helena (Argentina)

Our Maltese, Stoli, rests on one of his favorite spots in our downtown Austin bungalow. He is the king of our castle!
– A & M (Texas)

I thought I’d use this medium to introduce a new member of the family. Back in May I blogged the passing of my sister Jen’s cat Pugley (formerly my cat that my husband and I had rescued from the Humane Society). Jen’s other cat Minnie (who was rescued and brought back from Thailand by her friend) has really missed Pugley and spends alot of time wandering around the house howling. 🙁 Saturday Jen and her husband and daughter went to the Humane Society here in Ottawa and brought home an 8 year old bundle of adorable affectionate cuteness now named Sonny. I stopped by yesterday to meet him and totally fell in love. He is like a dog in a cat’s body, and is so starving for affection. Oddly enough this cat was brought in as a stray but CLEARLY was someone’s pet at one point. No stray is this sweet. And he totally tolerates the antics of my almost 3 year old niece so he’ll get along great with the baby my sister is about to pop.  So people, PLEASE go to your local animal shelter if you’re looking for a new pet. They are often overcrowded and have every kind of cat imaginable.

These posts make my Monday mornings! All today's pets are so cute, and I suspect Moody thinks he is completely camouflaged on the grey part of the rug.

Congratulations, Sonny! Very wise choice of family you've made … (Lucky boy!)

Moody – I would like to touch that stomach!!

I'm so glad there are people who will adopt older animals. So often I see people only wanting puppies or kittens and they are missing out on a treasure like Sonny. Happiness all around!

Grande Helena desde Buenos Aires! Al fin!!! Yo también me traje una alfombra de caraguatá de Punta, siempre hay lugarcito en el auto para una. A mi perra le encantaba mearla, asi que había que cambiarlas seguido! 🙂
