Regent Street warehouse

It’s no secret that Jo is a fan of Australian architectural firm Techne (see here, and here, and here). Well, now I’m jumping on this bandwagon and raising a white flag. I surrender to their unbelievable talent and the ultra cool designs they have come up with. Like this warehouse. Dear gawd this is just so damn perfect. It is bright and fresh and clean. All of the black details (windows, beams, stairs) with the white walls and concrete and light wood floors is such a beautiful graphic combination. An absolute dream home.

is it lived in? it feels so …. bare. why are all those shelves empty? i agree the decor is nice, but add some personality!

KiM says:

jane, this is from an ARCHITECT's portfolio. why would they want their spaces crammed with people's junk when they're trying to highlight the structure?

jane says:

i guess that mean it's not lived in?
if so, then i get it – it's about highlighting the bones and not the insides/decor.
i actually like seeing people's "junk" or what i call "personality" 😉

jane says:

p.s. i should add that the other links you provided for this architectural firm – the ones jo posted – are more alive with the personalities of the home owners – especially the second 2 links, where we can see loads of books, rugs, flowers, etc. but to me it doesn't take away from the architecture; it highlights it. but to each his/her own. 🙂
