An eclectic Parisian apartment

Jo spread the love for French interior designer Joséphine Gintzburger a few times in the past (here, here and here) and I came across another one of her projects – an eclectic apartment in Le Marais. Only in this setting could a yellow chintzy floral sofa set actually look cute. Throw in a sleek red countertop, chandeliers, a turquoise Smeg and shower right next to the bed and you’ve got another quirky Joséphine space.

What a joyous jumble! I love that the place reflects a panoply of things the owner loves, and just never mind trying to over-style it. You couldn't be within these walls and be depressed. Uplifting.

Monika says:

I love how the chintz was incorporated here — and love the bed too, which is also surprising.

Not very comfortable with how closely integrated the shower and sink are with the rest of the bedroom. The way my husband splashes, the bed would be drenched. Or at least splattered. (and I couldn't stop wondering where the toilet was hidden…)

Anja says:

Beautiful! So obvious that this project was done by an accomplished woman on both sides – client and designer.

Tobias says:

Makes me wonder – flatscreen above the head-end of the bed… or just a framed painting??

Rosy says:

The multi-frames in the cabinet (Monika: that's where the toilet is), the cute retro fridge, the dining set, and the shower… Very cute! Very Paris. On another note, I just designed my soon-to-be new kitchen with the exact same faucet and round sink. The IKEA designer advised against a small round sink… Seems it was not such a bad idea after all.

KiM says:

Oh – I gotta see pics when it's done Rosy!

Emmanuelle C. says:

I like the bedroom/bathroom. A great idea to keep in mind. The rest is very joyful. It's not my style at all but I must admit it is a success.
