Bluff house

Posted on Thu, 29 May 2014 by KiM

Check out this quirky home build by Australian architects Auhaus. Quirky on the outside anyway, with its layout of pod-like structures. The interior on the other hand is SWEET! The kitchen and bathroom are gorgeous and that tile – WOW! Nothing like a little graphic pattern to keep things interesting. (Jo featured Auhaus before – here and here).

Curl up

Sometimes you just want to curl up. Sometimes you want to escape to a quiet space. Sometimes you need inspiration. Sometimes you find it… in an image, in a portfolio, in a day dream. From the portfolio of photographer Lucas Allen.

Fitzroy extension

Additions to an historic Fitzroy, Melbourne home don’t scream “look at me, look at me'” Instead they are subtle, elegant, restrained. With references to the industrial past of this inner city suburb the open plan living spaces are flexible and fabulous. By Carr Design Group.

Mazen Studio

I would like to introduce you to Mazen El-Abdallah, an interior designer from Toronto who has seriously got it going on. In these photos you will see how Mazen has modernized and stylized 2 very small Victorian rowhouses (the first is a 900 sq ft, the second is 11 ft wide) and made them seriously cool. The entryway in the photo above is perfection and going in my inspiration folder. (Photos by Angus Fergusson and Michael Graydon)

Bold and bright

This is for you all you colour lovers out there. This home has bold colour around every corner and to my surprise, I really like it. It is the townhouse of one of London’s most established florists and is located in Notting Hill. It is such a fun, energetic mix of florals (of course) and stripes, modern and vintage, textures and colours. And you can rent it. 🙂 Check out the details on Domus Nova
