Best Friday ever!

Posted on Fri, 27 Jun 2014 by KiM

Yesterday late afternoon my husband and I picked up the keys to our new house. YAY!!!! Today we begin hauling everything over from the old house (luckily only a 5 minute car ride) and I am beyond excited (clearly, see below) to start making this place our home. Stay tuned for lots more on that in the near future, and in the meantime I will be uploading more frequently on Instagram since it’s just so damn convenient.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Here is some Friday eye candy for you from the lovely portfolio of Atlanta photographer Deborah Whitlaw Llewellyn. Perfect framing, perfect lighting, perfectly captured. And she even gets the pets involved so of course I am a fan. (On that note, pets on furniture may be closing up shop this coming week as well if more entries don’t materialize. So bummed).

Stalking a church

Posted on Fri, 27 Jun 2014 by midcenturyjo

It’s no secret that Kim and I worship a church conversion. We love to see these old buildings have a second coming. We haven’t found very many lately but the wait is over. It’s time to sing the praises of my latest stalking target. The little old church is a one bedroom apartment while the church hall out the back has become an open plan home with loads of light and space. Live in the hall and run a holiday let in the old church? My idea of heaven. It’s in Mount Hawthorn, Perth in Western Australia. Link here while it lasts.

A fireplace is the perfect place for a gorgeous pottery collection.

I love this kitchen. The shelving over the windows is a bit odd but if you’re lacking space, make it work! And I’m swooning over the legs of that dining table.

More pottery in a beautiful grouping, this time paired with dishes in a kitchen.

I need to graffiti something!

Modern yet approachable. Lighting porn to feed your addiction (ok, mine anyway). Toronto’s Shirley Meisels’ of MHouse Inc. kicks some serious interior design ass.
