Double dose of Domus Nova – part 1

Posted on Mon, 28 Jul 2014 by midcenturyjo

A crazy eight days of work ahead of me. Annoying when the real world impinges on the blog world isn’t it? I’ll be short on words and long on inspiration this week. Today I’m escaping into the listings at Domus Nova like this wonderful 2 bedroom apartment for sale in Westgrove, W2 London. If I had the asking price (and I don’t) and the owner would leave it just as it is I’d move right in.

Stalking leftovers

Posted on Sat, 26 Jul 2014 by midcenturyjo

It’s that time of the week again when I play devil’s advocate. Lovely homes? Yes… well… er… maybe. You see I am very finicky when it comes to my virtual real estate stalking. Fussy, particular, choosy, picky and hard to please. Not quite right, bad photos, more photos please, house is amazing furniture is deplorable, can’t quite put my finger on it listings but all with something that has me nodding “yes”. This week’s finds include my usual assortment of terrace houses ( I can’t help it. I like terrace houses. OK?), a fab modern refurb of an art deco apartment and an historic B&B complex in the country that I would love to take to the next level… if I had a cool mill to buy it. Click on the images to head to the listings. All via realestate.com.au.

And have a lovely weekend

I want to spend this rainy weekend baking in this kitchen…

or lounging while flipping through magazines……

Fiona Lynch

I have some seriously sinful eye candy for you to welcome the weekend (it’s supposed to rain the whole time here in Ottawa though DAMMIT). Australian interior designer Fiona Lynch (formerly of Doherty Lynch) has been going strong solo whipping up some serene modern spaces including several really fantastic kitchens (*swoon*). I am really sweet on that rug in the photo just below – perfect addition of just enough colour.
