You had me at hello

Posted on Tue, 25 Nov 2014 by midcenturyjo

You are definitely no wallflower. You are just a bit loud and proud. Always a happy face on display it’s what’s hidden within that has me wondering. What are you hiding? I bet you’re warm and embracing, modern but old fashioned in your hospitality. I know you used to be a shop house but you’ve had a bit of work done recently. Please let me in. I need to get to know you more. Hello House by Melbourne based OOF! Architecture.

I have not been this enthralled with a photographer who shoots commercial spaces in a long time, but Steve Herud is a genius when it comes to capturing funky restaurants, hotels and rental apartments. These spaces are gorgeous despite being commercial, and provide tons of inspiration for residential applications. (These photos include Hotel Superbude, Pappa e Ciccia restaurant, No Fire No Glory coffee shop, the FvF + Vitra apartment, Hotel Das Stue, 25 Hours Wien Hotel)

I love a window seat. Especially when it is on the fringe of a kitchen like this. Lean back. Relax. She’s making you a coffee I’m sure. By Preston Lane Architects.
