Stalking in Sweden

Posted on Sat, 22 Jun 2013 by midcenturyjo

I’m stalking on a Saturday but not on my home turf. I’m stalking a rather special apartment in Stockholm. Two floors of contemporary style meets old world charm, sleek chic meets aged natural finishes. It’s the home of Filippa Knutsson designed by Bjorn and Marianne Aaro of Aaro Architects. Swoon. Old dark timbers and new Dinesen oak floors, white walls and dark trim. I’d keep it just the way it is. A perfect marriage of modern and an earthy ethnic vibe. Sadly for us all it is no longer available but you’ll find the link here while it lasts.

Absolutely LOVE this space. Thanks for sharing.

AMAZING! My absolute most favourite post for a long while. Can't get over the first images of the living/dining room…. I'd happily live in just that space. Gorgeous!

Evelyne says:

Beautiful home!! Love every space, but the kitchen and bedroom are my favourites.

I LOVE this place!!

Wish it were my life…

I am familiar with the sofa, but can't remember the designer and manufacturer — can anyone help? (it's driving me nuts…)

Eco Chic says:

Every single corner of this house is enchanting, brave and original.

rooth says:

I think I like everything except for this home except for that hallway that's tiled. It reminds me of a really old public restroom / subway stop

Mals says:

does anyone know the name of the armchairs in the sitting room?

Monika says:

Mals — it's Borge Mogensen's Spanish Chair.

Coco, Sydney says:

Usually, black and white with wood accents doesn't work for me but this is amazing. Making me reconsider this combo. Breathtakingly beautiful and extremely glamourous in a very understated way.

George, London says:

This is quite possibly the warmest, most simple, cosy, well-designed interior I have ever seen, in each and every room. It is a dream came true family place to life, where the atmosphere is quiet and balanced. It really is the place I would have always wanted to have.
Congratulations to those who thought and designed and to those who are lucky enough to enjoy it and live there.
10 out of 10.
