A summer cottage in Denmark

Posted on Fri, 1 Apr 2016 by KiM

I am back with more monochromatic design but this one I could not resist. This summer cottage in Skagen, Denmark by architecture firm Ardess. The exterior in weathered cedar has such gorgeous tones of grey, and the wood interior is just as breathtaking. The amazing thing about this cottage is it is under 600 sq ft and was designed to accommodate 2 families. I know there would be fighting over who gets each summer weekend if this was in my family!

amazing! window views are like real paintings!

Axie says:

I love monochromatic! Especially in this type of setting. Why would you want anything to distract or compete with that beautiful nature view!? The inside is pretty cool, too čÖé

tmk says:

Ah, that beautiful Denmark summer weather!

Stella says:

It's pretty …. but looks like winter, cloudy bark and grey. … misterious …. cold ….. where is the summer!

Schlicht, sachlich, wundersch├Ân!

love it Love It LOVE IT!!!!

Colton says:

How did you get your cedar to that natural grey color while keeping it so even?

Yvonne van Dam says:

Danmark, my opinion though, has the loviest summerhouses ever. I come for over 30 years in Danmark and everytime I see the summerhouses near the beach it takes my breath away. Such as the one above!!!!! LOVELY
