A white beach house

We have featured many beach houses here on the blog over the years, and many of them take the nautical theme a tad too far. But not this one! I absolutely adore this Florida home. With different shades of white/off-white and not a speck of blue in sight, this is elegant yet earthy and minimalist. No fuss decor with lots of natural fabrics make this so effortless and soothing. I love that aside from a couple of throw blankets there are no patterns, making this so easy on the eye. By Tennessee-based interior designer Rozanne Jackson.

I like how the pillows are only randomly karate chopped.

I really like the fact that this looks nothing like Florida. One would assume, looking at the images, that the house is Italian or North African. That's quite an achievement.

That said, there's a smug pointlessness to the design that sets my teeth on edge. The living room lamp shades that shade nothing. The stools at the breakfast bar that are too low and too heavy to actually be used. The dining banquette that's so impractical that you'd be better off eating on the couch. Whatever happened to form following function?

That font-like hand basin does not allow anyone to wash their face while the tap is running as many of us do!! Instant wet hair/back etc. Children would enjoy the experience though…

Great design integrates the surroundings seamlessly and let the landscape and natural beauty take center stage.

Breakfast stools are not too low. They are of an avarage high if you count the back part too. Stunning house.
