Understated sophistication in Beverly Hills

From the moment you step through the gate to the welcoming entry hall, the bright light informal living areas with their beautiful terracotta tiles (and strangely empty kitchen) to the expansive master suite this Beverly Hills house by Ryan White Designs is understated and sophisticated. Think luxury that isn’t so much ostentatious as deeply satisfying.

This a house I would have liked to have seen before renovation and interior specialists got to it. Great bones, not a fan of the new decor.

Here are before and after:

Guess I'm a fan of hacienda mission style.

Lisa says:

I agree. What a shame. I think this is an example of house with great bones that became an opportunity for a designer to overwork. I do appreciate that they left the terra cotta floors (which can be hard to work with) and I LOVE the breakfast room. But that grey, grey, grey living space is so out of place and out of touch with the house. I really appreciate seeing the "before."

Interesting home

Grant says:

I like things about it but it feels so generic that it feels like it was staged for sale.
