Double retro trouble!

What better way to end the working week than a second dose of retro inspiration. Once again these images are scanned from Better Homes Decorating Ideas, Ruth Quatermaine, Meridith Publishing Company, 1967. Bedrooms bedrooms and more bedrooms. Master, guest and children's rooms to love or loathe.

I have to say that this time I'm almost loathing these. They aren't as fun as most of your retro photos. I do see some cute iron headboards though!

What a great way to start my Friday morning.

I like the bedding with the white background with the black scrolls all swirling around.

The black iron headboard almost looked like they were wall decals until I noticed there is spaces between the headboard and the bright red wall.

Thanks for the double dose of retro!

I'm loving the retro installments! It's crazy how many contemporary trends are in fact pretty darn retro!

It's funny how the beds then looked like bricks! Ugh, they look so uncomfortable. I did a post too about old Better Homes and Gardens. I loved looking through them

Wow - total color overload! I'm trying to remember what my bedroom looked like in 1967 - I think I remember a hot pink polka dot chenille bedspread with a ballerina on it.
these are too much fun. Thanks

my eyes are bleeding LOL! Way too much visual information... but I suppose that's how children's rooms are meant to look. A room only a mother could love in my opinion ;)

I think these are SO funky. I love seeing stuff like this. It reminds of me my youth. ;)

Jonathan Adler has been doing stuff like this for years.
And that's why I LURVE him.

There is something a little unsettling about some of these images... Like, why is there an oil of a donkey in an otherwise rather pink girl's room (and what creature is guarding the bed to the right?) Though, I would love that circular animal rug for my niece! -X

I agree Xander. What about that Bride of Chucky doll in the first picture and the decapitated house head in the last?!! The details are what's fun about these retro shots.

Better light, better photographer and we'd be incredibly close to what's going on right now. I'm amazed.
