GAH! this is exactly the post i needed to give me ideas for our kitchen island stools.. the red industrial stool is the thing of my dreams, but i'm also loving the mismatched-ness of the second-to-last photo. excuse me while i go ebay hunting..
Here's something I have been baffled by for so long. The BAR stool pulled up to the counter-height bar. Unless your thighs are the diameter of broomsticks, this doesn't work. It also gives you the feeling of eating food off a plate in your lap, a la a cookout. Also, when a bar stool is pulled up to a ledge of about 4" where are your legs supposed to go? Hey, I'm only 5'2'' and this is problem for me.
My last ponderation (is that a word?) the selection of white for the color below the wall, arg! the scuff marks from shoes!

Thanks for your daily posts which are a constant inspiration for me. My favourite stools are the Karim Rashid's ones : They look like E.T. in my kitchen, I love them, even though they're not that confortable...
omg be still my beating heart. The kitchen counter is my only dining space and bar stools are my freakin nemesis. For weeks I've been searching, daily. Weeks. I thought I'd finally hit the sweet honey pot with these....I already have fabric set by for recovering emergencies.....only to have them scooped up moments before I scooped. When it comes to furniture, never hesitate. My new motto.
Me - I agree. It's hard to get the perfect height counter with perfect height stools that are remotely comfortable.
Rebecca - oh no! And they were cool stools. I too have learned to never hesitate. Especially when I get that fluttering feeling in my stomach.
I just love these bar stools, we have these in our apartment, they're so stylish, everybody loves them!
Oh my gosh, I just laughed when I saw this post.
