Seventh Heaven

As promised yesterday a stunning church conversion by Baker Kavanagh Architects. The recently completed redevelopment of terrace residences is in Mill Hill, a landmark heritage church close to Sydney's centre in Bondi.  The church was converted into two luxury apartments, planned around internal courtyards. Two contemporary terraces were built adjacent to the church with a contrasting aesthetic. Think elegance and restraint, a juxtaposition between the heritage exterior and street scape and minimal white interior. Heavenly!

Truly divine. I have loved many of the places you feature but I have always wanted converted church. This is such a clever way to showcase heritage buildings.

This is a gorgeous conversion! I love how stunning the indoor and outdoor spaces mesh together and seem to bring it together. Also love how the ceiling is treated and integrated as an architectural piece into the space with some modification.

Beautiful use of the existing architectural features! I love how they have managed to keep some of the most stunning features and blend it so well with the contemporary style. Jealous of the building!
