Goin' to the chapel and we're gonna get married

Well maybe not married. At least in not this deconsecrated and now renovated little brick chapel in West Hobart, Tasmania. Yes I'm stalking Tasmania! The history! The cutest buildings. This sturdy early 1900's building has been transformed with a contemporary warehouse vibe but the chapel shell remains as does the simple utilitarian feel. It was plain and functional in the praise of the Lord when it was a church and now it is minimal and functional in the service of the owners. Link here while it lasts.

Perfect.
This is an ideal living space. Open kitchen with plenty of counter space for cooking and preparing food. The courtyard is a dream and would be perfect for animals to be outside and safe (ie. my cats).
The tall cathedral ceilings with the beams are "heaven". The wood floors and counter tops add warmth. I like the balance of the light cherry (?) wood and the grey cabinets in the kitchen. It makes the beauty of the wood really pop.
What an awesome renovation of this 1900's treasure. I could definitely see living there.

Not much character but much more homey than some larger more sterile church conversions. Glad to see a Tassie one in here. I am currently in the process of restoring one in Bracknell, Launceston TAS. It's heritage so will be rather restricted in the decor but its gorgeous regardless. Excited that I even get the chance to fulfill my dream of converting one :D
