Here

I just want to be here. Oh I also want to be glamorous and rich and as young as I was in the 80s. You may think it is a decade that taste forgot and how on earth would we want it back but then along comes a room that has its design zeitgeist so firmly in that era and it's love at first sight. Stalking monochrome Multiplicity in Melbourne

It's another case of stalking déjà vu. Architecturally designed homes we have featured previously on the blog seem to be hitting the market. Today I'm stalking this Brunswick East house by Melbourne-based architectural studio Multiplicity. If I remember correctly I was quite taken by the storage system in the kitchen. (You can see it in its architect's portfolio life here.) Now it's even more fabulous with its "styling for sale" by inside story, the latest collaboration between Lynda Gardener and Belle Hemming. Love, love, love the Grant Featherstone Numero modular chairs in the lounge area. I'm biased though because I have the same ones. Link for this wonderful heritage cottage and its ultra-modern extension here while it lasts.

Full of Grace

Take a two bedroom Art Deco era house that has seen better times. Give the old girl a well deserved makeover with a spacious modern extension. Take care to marry the old with the new. Final result? A stunning family home with a sophisticated colour palette of black, white and blush. I love the repetition of the stacked tile motif. Black and white

Volume, light, proportion and materiality. These are the elements at the heart of designs by Toronto-based architectural studio Atelier Kastelic Buffey. What appears to be simple and minimal is, in fact, a beautifully balanced consideration of form and function resulting in a modern interpretation of a family ski chalet.

Stalking black and white on the water

I'm stalking the epitome of style and relaxed sophistication on the the shores of Sydney's Pittwater in the suburb of Bayview. Black and white with accents of warm woods and the glint of metallics. Effortless transition between the beautiful interiors and the lush landscaped garden. Then there are the views and the fact that you have only to cross the road to feel the sand between your toes. Want. Seriously, seriously want. Link here while it lasts.
