What was once a summer home built in the 8os in South Bohemia, Czech Republic is now an updated and completed renovated primary residence for a young family. The main goal of the house's redesign was to keep its simple form and to create a connection between the nature outside and the interior. Yes it is simple but it is really beautiful. Look at that view from the upstairs desk area. Magical. By B² Architecture, photos by Alexandra Timpau.
A colour palette of black, white and grey. Slick, hard surfaces. Think concrete and metal warmed sparingly with wood. Too stark? Too cold? Or just right for your minimalist style? My favourites? the bathrooms especially the white one and the box shelving in the living area. Modern interiors by Prague based OOOOX Architects.
Down at the end of the garden is where you would normally find a folly. But how can you call a garden library a folly? Created by Czech firm Mjölk Architects, this fibreglass and wood box provides a reading room, a sleeping floor, a perch to observe your literary kingdom and of course books, glorious books. My head is swimming with possiblities. Just where in my garden will I place mine?
