Feminine and glamorous in Stockholm

Every once in a while a Swedish home blows me away with some not-so-Swedish decor. This being one of them. I found this property on Lagerlings, and it is all about feminine glamour. Some velvet, a mirrored console, rugs with leopard and zebra prints, glossy black doors, pale pink walls, brass accents, marble....it is one really beautiful thing after another. I am not sure how much my husband would be into this home but I would LOVE to live here.

Colourful glamour in Madrid

It has been a very long and sweltering hot week and I am very grateful Friday is upon us! For me this weekend will be about bathroom renovation shopping (husband doesn't know this yet but I just typed it for all to read so I guess it has to happen now!), some personal house touring and photo taking for this year's Glebe House Tour (so excited!) and finishing up a house tour of my own for another blog (oh yeah!). I will leave you with this glorious apartment that is fancy and fabulous by Spanish interior design firm IN DESIGN (photos: Manolo Yllera)

A luxurious apartment in Central Park West

If you are going to live in a 1930's high-rise in New York City, the only way to go is GLAM GLAM GLAM! This apartment on the 33rd floor of Robert A.M. Stern's 15 Central Park West is owned by a luxury bag designer, so no doubt interior design firm The Archers had to go luxurious with it. Drop dead gorgeous wallpapers by Gracie and Fornasetti adorn many walls, and the Gracie paper in the dining room is EVERYTHING - especially with the yellow curtains to play up the bold colour. The bedrooms are a playful mix of light/art deco and dark/gothic and I am totally smitten with each one. (This would make the best Airbnb!)

Living in the jungle

Over the years Kim and I have been fascinated by the homes of Sera Hersham-Loftus or should I say the reinvention of her homes. The queen of the boudoir look with its seductive, glamorous and over-the-top trappings is also the queen of the quick change, of reinvigorating her glorious spaces. Kim last featured her house a year ago but when I recently visited the Sera of London website, voila, her house had evolved into a glamazon jungle with the addition of even more houseplants than her usual parlour palms. It's spring, only it's inside. I love the look but can you imagine watering day?!

The vision of Pierce & Ward

"They knew that chic should never be shabby. They knew that glamour was essential but never at the cost of comfort. They knew instinctively that romances could be made richer, inspirations clearer, and futures brighter if surrounded by undeniable beauty."

Welcome to the magical mystery tour that is the portfolio of Nashville-based Pierce & Ward.
