A fun and colourful office design by Argentinian architect Agustina Bottinelli of AB I Arquitectos Asociados. Slashes of red, piano key stairs, old school video games, funky pop furniture, chickens and a toilet that will definitely be well read. (Don't ask me how it was done. Perhaps Agustina can let us know.) Definitely for a creative industry. I wonder if they actually get any work done?
There is a freshness, a lightness, a zing about Mercer INTERIOR's work. Dark, cluttered and dowdy becomes casually elegant with layers of texture, luxe mixed with rough. Rooms shed their frumpiness and come to life. Young, vibrant and fun. Reader request time! This one (actually 2) comes from Malou: "My husband and I are constantly inspired by your posts. We're hoping you can help us with ideas for:1. kitchen backsplashes for an all kitchen with white cabinets and dark gray floors 2. home office with tables in the middle". Simple enough. It's reader request time, and today's post comes from Melissa: "I've stalked your blog for years, and now that my husband and I are in the throes of renovating a funky garage/apartment into our future house, I was hoping you might be able to help. The home is 1600 sq. ft, so every sq. ft is in contention. I am a writer/photographer and need to have a home office that, unfortunately, will be placed just off of our living area. I was hoping you might be able to point out some built in home offices or some unusual alternatives to computer/bookshelf storage?" I scoured my workspace photos and found some that are small/built-in/in or nearby living rooms. Hope this helps you Melissa and anyone else looking to carve out a home office out of a small area.
