A rustic, industrial library by Jamie Banfield

Beautiful slabs of walnut (I'm guessing here), reclaimed wood shelves, raw steel supports, some stunning artwork, a vintage typewriter (this one is incredible, it too is like art) together in a small space make for an ideal cozy library/workspace with a masculine, rustic, industrial feel to it. Studio McGee encore

It's no secret that we love design firm Studio McGee here on Desire to Inspire. Their homes are always so fresh and family friendly, stylish but never pretentious. A love letter

Dear Simpson Jacoby Architecture,

I just wanted to pen a short note to let you know how much I love your work on this old house. Sympathetic, stylish, simple and soft. Love the colour palette, the whitewashed floors, the kitchen and the restored, sinuous stairs rising to that dark and moody studio office. Love how your client has filled it gently and thoughtfully with their possessions and how you knew it would be just so. Love it all.

Regards,

Jo

Working on a Saturday

It's like I say week after week. If you have to drag your sorry self into work on a Saturday then it certainly helps if it's somewhere stylish and this architectural "shop front" is one cool workspace.

Tasmanian architectural studio Room11 moved from their "spacious rooftop studio in the middle of the city to a street interface, seeking greater engagement with the public. The petite space is left as is, sprayed black with a singular intervention, a hovering timber display and work box."

Clever, clever, clever.

Working on a Saturday

My position stays the same week after week. If you have to drag your sorry arse into work on a Saturday it better be somewhere stylish. After drooling over the retro offices of Moscow-based interior design studio A3 I'm planning on learning Russian.

"Здравствуйте, меня зовут Джо. Я хотел бы найти работу."
