Backyard oasis

Some garden inspiration today. Contemporary landscape design by Melbourne-based Eugene Gilligan. I've chosen a few of my favourite outdoor spaces. With the temperature tipped to reach 41 degrees Celcius (106 Fahrenheit) I'm dreaming of luscious green shade and bubbling fountains ... and definitely a dip in a pool.

Brazilian beachside boho chic

The fishing village of Trancoso on Brazil's Costa del Descubrimiento may have started as a hippie hideaway but it's now the super trendy vacation spot. As many of our Northern Hemisphere readers have been trapped in the freezing gloom of winter I thought I'd take us all on a virtual getaway to the boho chic vacation home, Casa Tiba. I can feel the warm breeze as I lie by the pool and know that the cool, stylish interiors are only a few steps away.

It seems that most Mondays I want to run away. I never seem to be able to face the new working week. Today I want to be wandering through the marble halls of interior designer Caroline Legrand's Ibiza pad. A monochromatic palette, sophisticated 70s pieces and texture on texture. Brown and beige never looked so cool.
