When virtual is almost real

It's over a year ago that Kim featured the work of Russian architecture and design firm INT2 architecture and they just keep getting better and better. Actually there is only one thing to fault in this amazing Moscow townhouse. It's not real. It's a rendering. Part Scandinavian, part mid century, all computer generated ... until it's built. The colour blocking is blowing my mind. I can't wait for virtual to be made real.

Apartment for a hooligan

Crosby Studios is at it again, this time with a very small apartment (with a name that cracked me up so I had to use it as the title) that appears to have had a fairly limited renovation budget. And once again, they managed to keep it sleek and cool and homey.

Apartment on Leningradsky Prospekt

I wanted to share this apartment in Russia with you, because it is a wonderful example of modern, minimalist architecture done right in a small space. While fairly simple in its design, the black steel wall/windows is a DREAM, with white painted brick, concrete ceiling, sleek cabinetry and flooring, and the deep window sills all work so well together. I LOVE it....except maybe the hammock. I would prefer a sofa. :) Great job Crosby Studios!

When old and new come together

I can't get enough of lofts...and this one is a really cool mix of fold and new. Located in Russia (or Latvia?) this 2 story apartment was renovated with ideas of keeping it minimalist and bright, and to show a contrast of eras while preserving the original features. The windows are incredible, and while the kitchen seems dark which would make me crazy, I really like the rest of the open layout. Via The Village.

A vintage Russian apartment

I found this really cool apartment in Russia on The Village and had to share. The owners - I think they're interior designers from what the translation came up with - decorated this almost to perfection (I have issues with the curtains but I can let that go). Filled with antiques and thrift store finds, the somewhat Parisian decor works so well against the brick walls and herringbone parquet floors. The sleeping lost is a little gem, and I adore the huge art wall and bistro vibe in the kitchen. This would be a fun airbnb.
