Industrial luxe in London

Posted on Sun, 28 Apr 2019 by KiM

Quenching my thirst for industrial lofts with this location home beauty in London available via Shoot Factory. 2690 sq ft of open plan awesomeness. It’s no wonder the owner filled it with plants. Those windows and everything painted white makes for such a bright space. LOVE!

If you like your warehouse conversion more traditional, all industrial features, beams and brick then this one is for you. I’m real estate scrolling in Leichhardt just one suburb over from our last house. Love the central atrium with its outdoor shower (or is that just a piece of art?), the bathtub and all that glass. The architect is Petar Danicic. So having seen the two different warehouses which one is your favourite. Link here while it lasts.

Stalking 1

I’m stalking a building in Sydney’s Darlinghurst that from the street you would not particularly notice but inside it has been converted into three residences that celebrate its industrial beginnings.  Upstairs a four bedroom home with stylish eat in kitchen and courtyard garden. Downstairs two studio apartments that mean if I bought the place you could all take turns coming to stay and we can congregate around that table. Only problem is I would need around $4,700,000. Oh well that’s what real estate stalking is for. Dreaming. Link here while it lasts.

Stalking 2

I’m still stalking in Sydney. I’ve moved one suburb over to Redfern where the new house  shares many things in common with my last stalking property. Concrete and wood, narrow and rising over several levels, modern but in this case a relatively new build as opposed to a terrace house gut and renovation. I’m torn between the two. I’m leaning more towards this house as it seems to have mellowed. Perhaps there’s more golden timber tones and a peek or two of softening greenery. Then again the Surry Hills house had those soaring ceilings and statement fireplace. Which do you prefer? Link here while it lasts.

I’m stalking in one of my favourite Sydney suburbs Surry Hill. It’s a tiny enclave right next door to the CBD full of character terraces, cool shopping and an almost endless choice of bars, cafes and restaurants. This completely re-imagined terrace has been all but gut renovated creating 5.1m ceilings and walls of concrete and cedar. Modern living hiding behind a historic facade. All that concrete may come in handy as the house sits on a busy road and noise might just be a problem. A little greenery out the back would help soften the concrete canyon effect over time.
