At last....

Hello it's me. I had to take a couple of self portraits for a little project and I thought it might be time to post one here on the blog. Still shy. Still not the world's best photographer but here I am in all my 47 years of wear and tear. Hello at last!

You know, I always scan my RSS list and make a dive for DTO posts first because, overall, your taste and Kim's most closely reflect my own. It's lovely to see one of the faces behind the blog. It's a lovely face too. Warm, a bit mischievous looking, beautiful eyes.

That's a very nice photograph and a good idea to take one at your age - you'll be glad you did when you get my age : ) I think your skin is lovely!

There you are, gorgeous! I love the photo - a little mischevious twinkle, I see, too! Love having a face to the name and love, love, love your alls blog. Thank you for mentioning goods from my shop on the Martha gift ideas - that was incredibly sweet of you and I am so grateful.

Happiest of Holidays!

It was a big risk-- putting yourself out there. And you know? You really look like someone I'd love to know better. Beauty and personality just leap out of that particular photo! Looks like you've put 47 years of great work into becoming you-- and so far, the project seems to be turning out rather well. =) Thanks to both you and Kim, by the way, for POSTING this blog. I come here to dream of creating my own home, and see how others have done it. I have an "idea file" that features about 90% photos from this blog, and 10% other stuff. Please keep it up, y'all!

As beautiful and warm as your posts!

I'm blushing! Thanks everyone. I took over a 100 photos (thank god for digital cameras) and finally got one decent one :) I must remember to dye my hair and pluck my eyebrows for the next one!

What a lovely picture. And I agree with a few other comments, your face exudes warmth and there IS something about you that inspires a curiousness to get to know you better. And don't cover the gray! I'm 41 and the gray is starting to come in more and I"m loving it! There is something about the natural color of a woman's hair with gray that is so beautiful to me, in a way that dye destroys. A woman with gray can look chic and glamorous.

Jo,
I agree with Roseann. Don't cover your gray. I love the way it (and you) looks. A great haircut, a stylish pair of glasses... you are a chic woman.
weighing in with my two cents from Texas.

Hehe! I knew there was a reason I didn't dye my hair besides laziness and a dislike of hair dye chemicals. My mother had the most amazing salt and pepper hair with a wide Elvira white stripe at the front. I'm working on it :)

Has anyone ever told you that you look like Audrey Tautou? You know, that adorable girl in the "Amelie" movie?

Hey Jo, how's Flicka and Fred, been meaning to leave a comment for ages. You are bewutiful my darling inside and out, cheers Katherine

Hi Katharine. Fred is working fine. Just needed a clean, regrease, new shocks and a fiddle with the coin drop. We keep running out of 5 cent pieces it is so much fun! Flicka is off to the automechanic to fix the motor and get a cord with an on off switch. At least she'll be a "cheap" ride :)
