Todhunter Earle Interiors

Posted on Thu, 25 Oct 2007 by KiM

Todhunter Earle Interiors is the partnership of Kate Earle and Emily Todhunter, who not only create fabulous spaces but employ three product designers who design fabric, wallpaper, lamps and rugs and furniture for their clients. Their designs are for the most part contemporary, and I fell in love with their work once I saw the photo above. Gorgeous!!!

Shameless plugs

Posted on Mon, 22 Oct 2007 by KiM

It appears Jo and I are embarking on some pretty big ventures at the moment and I wanted to take the time for a little shameless plug for each of us. Let’s start with me, since I have a wee bit more at stake. My house is up for sale, and I’m really proud of ALL the work we’ve put into this place. But it’s time for me to move on. So if anyone out there is looking for a townhouse renovated and decorated by yours truly in Ottawa (Kanata actually)…

Jo has recently opened her Etsy store and it’s stocked of some of the most amazing artwork. She is so freaking talented. And I am so fortunate to already own several of her pieces. I’m like a proud Mom. The first two are photos of ones I own, and the other two she has available in her shop, that I am also itching to own.

Jo’s place and the long boozy lunch

I am so excited. My Grant Featherston Numero chairs came back from the upholsterer. They are so retro fabulous in their houndstooth check that I could squeal. The union jack pillow you can find out about here. The busroll pillow is one of my own. The two Florence Broadhurst fabrics are for lampshades and a roman blind. OK, OK I had every intention of styling my office today and taking lots of photos but 2 of my girlfriends and their darling but dynamite daughters decided to come to lunch. So instead of hanging art and covering lampshades I helped demolish a couple of bottles of riesling over chicken caesar salad and fruit salad and meringues (lazy pavlova). Lovely afternoon but no work on the office. No batteries for the camera either as 3 year old decided that she wanted to take our portraits or rather photos of our knees and elbows. I promise I will try to take photos of the almost finished office next week.

On another front my etsy store is almost ready to go. Any day now. I’ll being posting when it’s ready to open its doors. Hope you all drop by!

Where’s the retro?!

I know, I know. I’m a little late with your retro fix this week. In honour of Kim who is up to her armpits in last minute jobs before she puts her house on the market I’ve scanned some fabulous retro chair porn. Once again from the indispensable The Practical Encyclopedia of Good Decorating and Home Improvement, Vol 8, Greystone Press, New York, 1971.

Stunning art, lucite chairs, colourful suzanis, gorgeous furniture…did I mention stunning art? These are some of my favourite elements from the exquisite portfolio of super-talented photographer Roger Davies. My two favourite photos are above.
