WINKS

WINKS – weekend links. Here we list what has come in during the week, things we’ve found and things we think you’ll want to see. If you’d like to see your blog or website featured email us and if we think it fits with our readers we’ll link you. My apologies for a shorter WINKS today. I’m almost dying from laryngitis and a bad chest cold as well as internet connection problems but the show must go on! So what’s in this week?

  • Erin for Design for Mankind sent me this email and it had me quaking in horror. You see I hate having photos taken. I’m a very private person especially in the last few years. My friends joke I must be in a witness protection program. Here’s what Erin wrote, “To honor Design for Mankind’s new look and NEW site to be released next month, I’m hosting a Yearbook Blogger Party. That’s right, a trip down memory lane for the bloggin’ folk! So, regardless of whether you were homecoming queen or the chess club prez, you lucky ducks get to re-live your high school past!

Here’s what I need from you:
An old high school yearbook photo (can include senior portraits, ‘voted most likely to…’s and anything you don’t find potentially incriminating).
A current portrait photo (can be self portrait, but do your best to make the shot clear and hi-res)
Your vote for Blogging Homecoming Queen and King (among others: class clown, best dressed and most likely to succeed).

I’ll be compiling a yearbook of the greatest ’08 moments to be released in March!”

    OMG! The gang at 17
I’m 18 here but at least I cut my hair! Annie Hall was big OK.

    Hiding

So OK Erin here’s a couple of photos from my senior year. We don’t have year books in Australia. They’re old and faded just like I am now but I think it’s rather brave of me to own up to a yellow tracksuit and hair like that. It was 1979. ARGH!!! Yes I admit it I’m 46 this year. The newer photo is not that new, a few years old now. My one and only attempt at selling work at a market. Thank god a shop picked them up straight away. The photo is not that clear but remember it’s rumoured that I’m in the witness protection program. Good luck Erin! I hope others play more fair than I do.

  • Carolyn emailed to introduce her blog Hello my name is Carolyn, AKA Carolyn – the project blog. She loves to make things around the house and boy has she come up with some great ideas!
  • This in for ABC Home, New York. “ABC Home makes transitioning to a healthier, green lifestyle easier than ever with the opening of Home & Planet—a destination located on the third floor of ABC Home that merchandises our beautiful and cutting edge sustainable offerings in one location. Curated to take as much of the guess work out of decision making as possible, Home & Planet delivers a range of choices in a variety of areas. These are integrated into a museum-like setting to help customers make the most educated choices possible, protecting themselves and our planet at the same time.” Please if you live in New York check it out for me. It looks amazing and I like to live vicariously.

Once again sorry for a shortened WINKS. If I’m alive next weekend I promise it will be longer!

HAHAHA – I can’t stop giggling. Jo you were so freaking cute when you were a kid! That yellow tracksuit is priceless! And those dimples!! And of course the most recent one you’re hiding in the shadows. Guess I better go dig my yearbooks and photos out. UGH.

HAHAHA— Jo, I’m with Kim on this. You were a CUTIE! 🙂 Thanks for playing along despite the skeletons you may have dug out— trust me, I’ve got some BAAAAAD photos of my own!

Thanks for spreading the word; this will be the BEST yearbook ever! LYLAS, BFF, HAVE A GREAT SUMMER, XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX… 😉

Hey I thought that yellow tracksuit was sooooo cool. Look at the matching green and yellow shoes 😛 Oh well we pay for our mistakes don’t we.

Forgot to say Erin do I get class clown for yellow track suit and sitting on a trash can?
