It’s all about space and light. Sounds simple doesn’t it? To Melbourne based design firm Matt Gibson it is. Their design solutions are based on light, material and patterns of movement. With much of their work based on house extensions it’s the “threshold and junction and the rigorous exploration of the zones between what has come before and what is new…” that form the core of this work.

I have really enjoyed all the contempory and modern rooms you have posted this week but these have to be some of my favorites. I love the transition from old to new and inside to outdoors.

I love melbourne, and I love the time I spent there. These pictures make me miss them all over! These are wonderful pictures! I like how they’re so clean but yet not cold. Thanks for sharing!

I love in the second photo how the interior and exterior blend together. Gorgeous architecture!!

Wow! The top two pictures are my favorite. I like the creativity behind the kitchen/bookcase mural.

It seems Melbourne has some stunning properties! Wow.

COVET the routed drainboard in the marble countertops! (bench) Also that long hall is great, as is the color.
