WINKS – weekend links. Here we list what has come in during the week, things we’ve found and things we think you’ll want to see. If you’d like to see your blog or website featured email us and if we think it fits with our readers we’ll link you. So what’s in this week?
Jessica of the blog The World According to Jessica Claire promised a while back to send me some photos of her visit to the studio of artist Andrea Marcus. It’s located in Stoney Lake, just outside Peterborough, Ontario. “The gardens have been featured in a few magazines here in Canada and I thought you’d especially love the little bedroom overlooking her workspace. Can you imagine waking up every day and facing the waterfall? It truly is one of the most serene and heavenly places I’ve ever been.” Heavenly is right. It looks so incredibly peaceful, and Jessica’s photos perfectly capture that. (Thanks Jessica!)
Stellar portfolio by über talented New York based photographer Peter Murdock. Constantly sought by designers and shelter mags Peter has a way with colour and light. I feel I could step right into these photos and sink into a sofa. There are far too many amazing shots to highlight here. Take your time and enjoy Peter’s website.
Almost got through the week without indulging in my guilty little secret of real estate stalking. Almost. I wanted to share another example of a growing trend in inner city Australian cities of increasing your living space with a pavilion in the back yard. It’s a great solution for narrow city blocks and so versatile. Bedroom, studio, office, kid’s retreat. Often self contained (handy on a chilly night) It’s no granny flat. Love this stylish terrace house in Sydney’s Paddington.
