Island stalking

Posted on Mon, 9 Nov 2009 by midcenturyjo

This week while stalking real estate websites I went island hopping. Not tropical islands but a small and oh so popular island in the Hawkesbury River north of Sydney. I’ve walked the streets of Dangar Island before stalking lovely weekenders and this visit was productive as well. Not your average weekender stuffed with family hand-me-down furniture and cracked cups. No this one has had the interior designer touch. I wouldn’t want to leave on Monday morning! Link here while it lasts.

Hey Kim & Jo! What is with your new format? I HATE it. It freezes and images can’t be enlarged for better viewing… please change back!!!

What a treat! I got the swine flue, have lost my voice, but I can at least enjoy pictures! I really, really dislike homes that feel showy and staged. Who can relax there? Now, this home feels warm, inviting and relaxed. And it is beautiful. I LOVE everything in the second image (and the lighting is so lovely). And look at that walkway. Perfection!

Happy week! OX Monika

P.S I have always wondered how I can get your feeds straight to my mailbox (yes, you may call me lost in hightech land). Is there a way with your new layout. (Much easier to navigate BTW!)

Desire to Inspire says:

Thanks Monika! I don’t know much about RSS feeds because I honestly don’t use them but if you use the subscribe button in the sidebar I think there’s options to select your email.

Cynthia, I love the new blog because we can see that this is the second comment you’ve left (under a diff name) dissing the new blog. If you don’t like it feel free to stop coming by. If it’s really freezing for you, your PC is too slow and you need to maybe think about getting a new one, and the images are big enough. If you can’t see them well, perhaps you need to visit your local optometrist. 🙂

That last comment was from me, not Jo. In case she thinks I’m being mean. 🙂

FABULOUS home! I want to live there!!! It’s location is SO me… it’d drive my husband crazy (b/c he’s a city boy), but I would be forever happy there 🙂 Thanks for sharing. Lovely!

Hi! First of all let me say I love your blog (and the new format) and found you thanks to the good folks at Remodelista.com I absolutely love this house and am wondering what the large print is of in the living area? I would love to find something like this for my living room if you could lead my in the right direction.

Love the beach house, and in particular, the sconces are LOVELY. Just did some research to try to find these but cannot seem to find a thing, care to share how we can get our hands on those bronze sconces and swing art lamp? Thanks so much, we love your blog!!
