Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 14 Dec 2009 by KiM

If you’d like to send us photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow our basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so both pet and furniture takes center stage. (Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture…and your pet happens to be sitting on it). And second, the photo must be of decent quality. For example, if it’s REALLY dark or fuzzy (camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Thanks!

Chii has taken to sunning herself in this wacky patterned chair and leaves behind big tufts of her white fur. However, I don’t hear of her new pal complaining about a little hair…
Amanda

Max is a year old maltipoo who has charmed the entire family! A great friend for our 2 year old Labradoodle.
– Teri

Charleston the Wheaten Terrier is sitting on our (his) favorite chair.  He likes it so much that he chewed the arm while waiting for us to come home one day.  He often sits on this chair and stares out the window until he’s too tired to sit up anymore.
– Kaneil

This is Zoe. She’s probably the most photographed pet in the history of pets. I tried to get her to sit in the Wassily chair, but she wasn’t having it.
Stephanie

Our cat Daphne is not content to sit on the floor when we’re sitting at the table. Instead she likes to be part of things on her own chair. The only catch is that she won’t jump up unbidden. This is a cat who requires an engraved invitation in the form of much patting of the chair and encouragement from us.
I couldn’t resist also sending you this one. Whenever we put the futon down in our guest room/office and prepare it for a guest, Daphne decides that we’ve made it up for her and promptly props herself up – like a human – against the pillows. We have several different photos of her in these sorts of positions on the futon. We call them her boudoir shots.

This is Music. She loves sleeping on the Ghost chair, especially when the fleece is removed. I suppose the cool plastic surface has a way with her.
– Adrien

That’s my beloved Viszla Tibor. He passed away Jan 1 of this year. He was a notorious furniture lounger, and was a flexible as a piece of over-cooked pasta. My friend Amy keeps on telling me that I should send you a pic of him, because he was so ridiculous.
– Kathi

My 2 year old beagle, Hiro, loves to take over my spot when I take a break from the work desk. He would get comfy and sometimes fall asleep on the arm rest.
– Vera

Here is a picture of our cat Senator Pickle. Also known as the esteemed Senator Pickle from the State of Litter Box. He is a fat cat trapped in a skinny cats body (he is obsessed with food). He can also destroy a roll of toilet paper in mere seconds by using his teeth and back claws. We got him from the SPCA and adore him…& he tolerates us since we feed him.

Here’s my wonderful Lab mix Lucy. She’s too cute to scold when she’s up on the furniture.

Thought you might enjoy this photo of my terrier, Olive in our cabinet…

Since we didn’t get a ton of photos this week, I thought I’d add one of my own. This is a photo of my cat #7, Edgar, on my DIY sofa with Cheeks in the background. The 2 of them are my old boys, and have spent every waking moment in the past week on those blankets. Big babies.

Amanda says:

This is by far my favourite of the post that you do!! I loved coming home and finding my dog curled up on my bed, or sprawled out on the couch! These bring back good memories!

Lady says:

I have to give special mention to Daphne the cat for being such a super cute fatso!!!

Amanda says:

Thanks for sharing Chii, Kim!

In reference to Zoe being the most photographed pet in history, I’m a bit overeager with taking shots of all three of my cats to the tune of 8000+ pictures in the last five years. >_>

Tammy says:

Kim, thanks for making Daphne a minor Internet celebrity today! All of these pets are so gorgeous.

stephanie says:

She’s a staaaar! Thanks for giving her her 15 minutes. It’s all she wanted for Christmas.

jen ramos says:

I agree, I really admire her work…she has some great shots here!
