WINKS – weekend links. Here we list what has come in during the week, things we’ve found and things we think you’ll want to see. If you’d like to see your blog or website featured email us and if we think it fits with our readers we’ll link you. So what’s in this week?

• James Ward illustrates plates. Big bad bears and wee small wrestling mice with a thing for sweets. I can’t make up my mind which one is best for my husband but I’m definitely having the wolf! Etsy store here.

• Loving these pure hemp rugs hand woven in India for cloth. Julie Paterson’s pared back landscapes, simple abstract shapes in bold earthy colours. Want to rub my toes on these.

• • Gorgeous furniture by Town & Country Style.  French provincial to industrial and based in Armadale, Victoria. For those Aussies craving that townhouse/country house vibe.

•  Lunch on the grass anyone? Fun pieces for everyday by Déjeuner sur l’Herbe.

• Where are the blogs? Where are the reading guides? I have dozens of wonderful new blogs saved up ready to go but when? I’m moving in the next couple of months so winks will become reading guides 🙂 and I can stress out over packing and moving and you can chill with lots of lovely blogs. There is a problem with this blog. All of this eye candy we feature has the effect of making people change their minds over and over again about what sort things they like in a space. I for one am not a big fan of pastels, particularly purple/lavendar. Then I go and find this gem of a home on Micasa and I now think purple is not that bad. I kind of like it (although the living room rug could be a bit more interesting) – especially with all the grey walls, which has been my favourite wall colour for ages. Maybe you’ll change your mind about using pastels when you see the wonderful photos below. (Happy Friday!!)

This week’s reader request comes from Nicola in London: “Our living room has a beautiful original Victorian fireplace but I am struggling to figure out what would look good on the mantelpiece (I think they are just called mantels in the U.S.) I have tried a few arrangements but nothing I have put together so far seems to work….” Simple enough. I think when you’ve got a Victorian fireplace, you could decorate it with virtually anything as they are so beautiful to begin with. 🙂  Anyway, here are many photos of fireplace mantels and the assorted decor they hold.
