Drum roll… featured in the latest Belle magazine Scott Weston has sent us the photos of this luxe Sydney apartment. You’ll remember this apartment from my earlier post where Scott took us through the “befores”, his design process and some of the “durings”. It’s a tip of a top hat towards Art Deco but with a modern quirky twist. (Click here for a reminder.) The finished home has been kept under wraps until its debut in Belle today but Scott has saved a few more photos exclusively for us. (Great shots are by photographer Nick Watt.)
“It’s now complete and the Client has moved in and brought a fantastic tapestry of belongings, artwork and furniture along with all the bespoke joinery we have designed and created the next all important layer… stamping the apartment as their own. It’s just come out in the February March issue of Belle and I thought you would like to see areas that have not been published… the all important main bathroom that really is a beautiful space to be in, the detailed birds eye joinery to master bedroom and the simple but chic kitchen with the lilac interior.”
The apartment is a play on old and new, hidden colour (Scott’s trademark coloured bespoke joinery is evident in drawer linings, subtle but striking), Art Deco meets modern with a stunning art and glass collection and Fornasetti cabinets to die for. My favourite rooms? The quirky, richly hued, tiled bathrooms referencing their deco past tease you. Old or new? Including “during” shots that make you wonder how all this loveliness came to be.
And you’ll find it all here in the latest Belle magazine.
We’ve got a new sponsor in the house, by the name of High Fashion Home. It’s another I could not help but get excited about because they have some reeeeeally hot furniture. I found at least 10 pieces I adore within the first couple minutes on their website. Yeah, it’s yummy. They have a huge 125,000 sq ft location in Houston, TX, that looks like a playground for interior design enthusiasts. And you can shop online, and they currently ship only to destinations within the 48 contiguous states, so some of us (like Jo and I) will have to love from afar. They cater to all sorts of styles, as you will see below: Earthy Modern, Industrial Countryside Chic, French Gothic Arboretum, Rustic Zen Ranch, Boutique Hotel, Traditional Glam and Office Vintage Chic. (P.S. They have jumped on the blog bandwagon – check it out here.)
Lounging on Le Bambole by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia. This has to be my favourite room of the year. I love this apartment photographed by Frederik Vercruysse. (More of this fabulous home here.) I have a daydream where I stumble upon a vintage leather Le Bambole in a secondhand shop where the owner thinks it is just a beaten up oversized beanbag. Every bone in my body is aching today from planting out the garden in the rain and finishing painting my fireplace in the room that the painters ruined. It is my last day before I go back to work and so I’m taking the blog day off to daydream about a couch…. my daydream might just include some special accessories. Stick around. Kim has a drool worthy post coming up later.
P.S. So are you a vintage leather le Bambole or does the re-release in white cotton do it for you?
If you’d like to send us photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow our basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. (Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it). And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it’s dark or fuzzy (from a camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Thanks! (Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to email@example.com and PLEASE don’t send me closeups of your pet!)

“Our sweet dobermans snuggling on the couch-don’t they look festive in their red sweaters?
My doberman, Trinka, snuggling on a blankie on the couch.
The puffball, Jade, perching on a familyroom chair.“

“Brady & Cali snuggling on all 5 of our pets’ favorite chair 🙂“
“Lola, Olive, & Boom Boom taking over the couch. Who could argue though?”
– Daren (Oakland, CA)
“Well, it’s not so much pets ON furniture as it us pets UNDER furniture. Our rescue mixed breed puppies Daisy and Bella (left and center) playing with their new big brother Buddy underneath our Bo Concept bed. We came in from another room to find only tails greeting us.“
– Corey (Austin, TX)
“My photo shows Tunis, a Parisien, female cat. I was babysitting her during a hot summer in Paris last year. She was obviously bored with my company.“
“Our leather love seat is Madison’s favorite place to really crash out. She is sound asleep here. Madison, a Giant Schnauzer, makes the sofa look small, with her huge stretched-out frame tucked in with her messy blankets and pillows.“
– Anne (Fort Lauderdale, Florida)
