Retro

There was a time on DTI that week after week I slavishly copied images from my extensive retro interior design book collection. One day I just couldn’t scan anymore. I had come to the last one. It was a sad day. Today is a good day for lovers of the retrolicious. Thanks to the wonderful Lia we get to crave and cringe again for one more day. Images from “Schoner Wohnen” from 1976. This has reignited my retro design book addiction. I’m on the hunt for more! If you need more retro too head to my (extensive) collection of past posts here.

That brown bedroom with the 'mustachioed' art work above the bed gave me a good old chuckle, Jo!

I can't imagine coming home drunk to that brown bedroom, LOL! I stick to Miami minimalism.

the kitchen with the herringbone back splash is doin' alllll kinda right!!!

Lin says:

Thanks for this. Have missed your retro posts!

it's quite interesting to see the different aspects of retro design making their way back in full force lately – wallpaper, chevrons, bold graphic pattern. Though that plaid couch… I'm not sure….

Lia says:

Wow! I've seen heaps of this stuff on ebay selling for a fortune lately!! The lamps, the chairs, the wall paper! Love the rotation of design! It's so predictable! Love bedroom two with the black and white wall, I'm sure I've seen that in Vogue living recently!! 🙂

Picture 3: "Bride of Chucky – The Prequel". Oh, and that bedroom! 2001 cum The Shining nightmare/dream inducing.

Steve Mawson says:
