Robert Bailey

Posted on Tue, 1 Mar 2011 by KiM

I came across the portfolio of Vancouver-based interior designer Robert Bailey when he sent an email a few weeks ago with a submission for a pets on furniture post (his entry is the second one here). I immediately took notice of his cool “boxy” shelving (ok maybe not immediately as I first totally fell in love with his French Bulldog). His timeless designs are modern and contemporary, perfect for funky downtown Vancouver lofts. And I HAVE to show my husband the built-in TV surrounded by storage – genius!

Remember this home from a recent issue of Real Living magazine? The owner won their “win a stylist” competition… although her home was pretty fab to begin with. Now it seems the owner is moving on and the Camperdown, Sydney home is for sale. Stalking turns up some interesting properties no? I must admit I’m a sucker for the pretty shots. Most times real estate photographs leave me a little cold. These ones make me want to move straight in. Love it!  Here while the link lasts.

I fantasise about a little house on the prairie…. oops I meant a little house in the fields seeing that we don’t have prairie in Australia. A simple one room cabin, a fireplace, a veranda for the wonderful view. How about a BBQ kitchen, some comfy chairs and a luxurious bathtub for soaking and sunset watching? Oh how I’d love this little house in the fields. Just for weekends. I’d let you guys use it when I wasn’t there. Trouble is I think I would want to live there all the time. Stalking tugs at the heart strings sometimes. Link here while it lasts.
