Maggie (of the blog Maggie Rose) wrote us wanting to share her home with our readers. What makes her submission extra special is that she just did what I really wish I had the balls to do. She is leaving her day job in order to pursue what she is really passionate about – interior design. Here’s the scoop from Maggie:
My boyfriend, kitty and I live in a 1907 house turned into apartments and live in the upstairs two-bedroom unit. We’ve been renting this place for about a year and a half. It’s located in the beautiful Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle, just north of downtown. Many of the pieces in our home are hand-me-downs and budget finds, but I’ve brought natural elements into each of the spaces along with pretty textiles and some old-fashioned DIY to make it feel like our home. So if you live in the Seattle area and need some decorating help, give talented Maggie a shout!

Sam, I found the lamps at TJMaxx (great price!).
Brad, the rug is jute, by Surya and called the "Continental Rug". It can be found here: http://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/surya-continental/bleach/158COT1930-203.html Hope that helps!

Michael – it's Ikea + diy. Expedit shelf turned sideways, and here's a post about diying the cushion: http://www.maggieroseonline.com/2011/02/25/how-much-is-that-kitty-in-the-window/ Hope that helps! Maggie

I would really love to know where you got the ladder-esque bookshelves. I've been searching for the right shelves for my room. thanks!

These photographs of Maggie's apartment are so gorgeous! As is, of course, her apartment! So proud of her shedding her shackles!
Maggie says:
Eve, I got those at Target about four years ago (online) so I'm not sure if they still have them. Crate and Barrel has a similar design! Hope that helps! Maggie

I enjoyed spotting all the IKEA pieces. They really are great when you're working on a budget (which I definitely am), especially if you work some DIY magic to make them your own, which you've clearly done! I recently got myself an IKEA Poang chair and I've draped a sheepskin over mine much like yours! 🙂
