Annette English

Perhaps you’ve heard of interior designer Annette English. She is an Australian currently based in Los Angeles designing homes for some Hollywood folks (ok, and some ordinary folk too) – and has even designed a 34,000 sq. ft. French château (!!!). When she emailed us saying she’s an avid reader of the blog and thought we might like to blog some of her work she had to twist my arm to agree…not really. 🙂 Many of her projects are fairly traditional but she has designed some more contemporary spaces that I am a big fan of.  And I am a REALLY big fan of that huge moose photograph (after the jump).

Alyssa says:

she has such gorgeous taste!!!

Melanie says:

Great work. Don't care for the last 2 though.

Lila Ferraro says:

Wow, she is very versatile. I love all of her work. The pink bedroom is definitely my top, though!

The last two were my favorites.

The glass chair with the fur cushion is genius. Love.

Nelly says:

The moose photograph got me laughing! Not sure if I could get dressed in front of it every day though… Very versatile work indeed. I love the 6th picture – great mix of textures (velvet, weathered/rusty metal, polished steel, rustic timber…)! I quite like the bed on the 4th picture: those hanging "beads" (or whatever they are) give the impression of a 4-poster bed and add real drama (and structure) to the room. Well done! I must say the last two images tend to make me cringe… I didn't even know that this standard "look-at-me-I'-m-filthy-rich" style – that seems quite popular in the US – had survived the 80s…

Wow! Amazing work and good taste 🙂

the moose photograph is very Canadian! i love the couches with the giant pillows!

i LOVE that shelving, how it turns the corner like that. into my inspiration file it goes!

Selena says:

Love it all. Especially the lime & grey look. The last two rooms are gorgeous until you glimpse spongebob on the one of the shelves and realise they are childrens rooms. OMG! now did I have two cushions or ten on my bed last time. Totally OTT.
