Another location home

Posted on Wed, 21 Sep 2011 by KiM

I have another Shoot Factory location home in London to share. This time it is fairly simple, and despite not being a lover of taupe-ish walls, I am enjoying these with fabulous black stained hardwood floors and white trim. I must mention the stack of Tolix armchairs that had me gasping in delight.

MATCH

Whitney sent us the following email the other day: My husband and I (along with our three year old son and five month old son) just started an interior design business in the San Francisco area. With the economy down and many people having to rent homes instead of own them (us included) we thought that designing for renters was something the market was missing. We do quick small budget makeovers while the family goes out on a date! 2 hours and you have a new well designed space. What a fantastic idea! They have a blog with details of their business, and below are some before and after photos I found there. Good luck with your new biz Whitney and Kevin!

Just a little bit of fun. Nothing serious. Froth and bubbles. Perfect for tea and cupcakes. Found while real estate stalking in Marrickville, Sydney. Link here while it lasts.

Chilean beauty

I couldn’t resist. I had to share more fabulous images from photographer Fran Parente’s portfolio. This time he has captured the essence of this Santiago, Chile house by architect Mathias Klotz. Dark yet bright. Modern with a touch of retro. Love the bike hung from that amazing staircase, the street presence of the building, the lower position of the windows in the bedroom as well as the run of book underneath. South American design is so hot right now and so are their photographers.

LOVE

A really long wooden dining table with a bunch of vintage chairs (and old schoolhouse looking ones to boot) = a HUGE *YES!* in my book.

As much as I love having 25 drawers in my kitchen to keep everything organized, there’s something really appealing about having every kitchen gadget and spice jar at your fingertips (although the dust and grease must be such a pain in the arse). Both photos via Freunde von Freunden.
