Friday escape

I thought I would help Kim with her French studies. A weekend away. A full French immersion experience. French food. French wine. Speaking only French. The food and wine are for me. The French is for Kim. I can’t speak a word and anyway it’s rude to speak French with your mouth full of French wine and French food. I think the perfect place to stay would be Baudon de Mauny, a chic and casual mix of modern in a 1777 Hotel Particulier. Perfect.

Oui oui une belle adresse . Le lieu est beau, le vin est bon et la langue française du sud chantante ! Bonne journée.

What a perfect balance of stunning antique charm and mod style. Can I come too! I love french wine and bread!

Eek. Just catching up on my favorite blogs now – missed so much great stuff!! In the third picture, those fully upholstered chairs – is there a specific name for this sort of design with the arms upholstered the same way as the body but still have negative space. I'm probably not articulating this well, but what are those chairs!!!!!

midcenturyjo says:

Hi Garrett! It's the Utrecht Chair by Gerrit Rietveld designed in 1935. Cassina produces them now.
