Mauricio Arruda

Posted on Wed, 2 May 2012 by KiM

Maurício Arruda is a Brazilian architect/designer whose funky, retro apartment was featured here last year. I stumbled upon his website recently and this apartment caught my eye. (The project is from a collective called WHYDESIGN, whose members are Mauricio Arruda, Guto Requena and Tatiana Sakurai). LOVE the gray wall colour. LOVE the forest mural (I have one too!). LOVE the Pierre Paulin Little Tulip chairs. LOVE the rosewood cabinetry. LOVE the graphic wallpapers. LOVE the built-in workspace. Photos by Marcelo Magnani.

Dragana sent photos of her apartment in Belgrade that I wanted to share. She has created a lovely bright space in what seems like pretty cramped quarters. “I was in Amsterdam this year. Wandering through streets of Amsterdam, i found the inspiration to adapt my flat in Belgrade size 51m2, which had been totally ruined. I furnished it with the furniture, mostly white and straight lines.

And so to sleep

I could curl right up in this bed for an afternoon nap. Maybe breakfast in bed with the hubby and the kids or in my case the hubby and the fat dog. Another great photo by Hannah Blackmore.

Bright light and joyful. Full of life and vibrant. Sunny, fresh and fab. I could be describing the Australian lifestyle but instead I’m actually talking about Aussie photographer Hannah Blackmore‘s shots. If you think these images are cool you should definitely check out her food photography. She’s also a book designer and art director. Shows doesn’t it?

Atmosphere Interior Design – part 2

Here is another project by Saskatoon’s Atmosphere Interior Design. Coincidentally it is again in my favourite colour palette of black/white/yellow. I just can’t get enough. Woot Woot!
